Climate Change and Environmental Conservation
Building community climate resilience, natural resource conservation, and mass plantation in rural areas.
Climate Change & Environmental Conservation
Climate change is increasingly affecting rural communities through irregular rainfall, drought, heat waves, water scarcity, crop losses and changing agricultural conditions. Recognising these challenges, Sabhagi Vikas is continuously promoting awareness and community action on climate change through Gram Sabha meetings, community platforms and village-level discussions.
The organization is facilitating discussions on the impact of climate change on agriculture, livestock, forests and rural livelihoods, while promoting practical measures such as crop diversification, water conservation, sustainable natural resource management, organic and bio-farming practices, reduction of plastic use and climate-resilient livelihoods. Communities are also being oriented on relevant government programmes such as MGNREGA and crop insurance, and the role of Gram Sabha and Panchayats in climate adaptation.
Plantation Drives & Forest Protection:
Through these efforts, Sabhagi Vikas is promoting community ownership and collective responsibility for environmental protection and climate resilience.
